Generic names of centrifugal separators

Centrifugal separators are machines that separate target components from materials in a mixed state using centrifugal force. More specifically, they are machines that place the mixed materials to be separated in a centrifugal force field under rotary motion and separate target components rapidly and massively by centrifugal force.
Centrifugal force can be provided in two ways: one is to contain materials in a container, which is rotated and another is to rotate the materials themselves. The latter means pneumatic or hydro cyclones, which are generally not categorized as centrifugal separators though they apparently use centrifugal force.
That means pneumatic or hydro cyclones are not called centrifugal separators, though they use centrifugal force. They are sometimes called centrifugal separating machines, but these names are not fixed.
Thus, centrifugal separators can be defined as machines that have a rotary container, which contain materials to be separated, apply centrifugal force to these materials, and take out separated target components.
The general definition of centrifugal separators is as given above. This definition includes basket-type centrifugal machines called centrifugal filters, which are not described here, because centrifugal filters have the use surface tension and filter residue specific resistance as main factors, which is in a completely different separation principle from other centrifugal separators which havethat use the a separation mechanism, including the settling velocity, as the main factor.
